Connor McGregor

Senior Designer

About Connor

With years of experience in the design realm, embarking from graphic design (a reformed modernist) to navigating the territories of website design, webflow development, and presently, motion design.

In my limited downtime (small family in tow), you'll often find me indulging in the simple pleasures: sipping whisky, stargazing, admiring sunsets, and occasionally diving into episodes of The Sopranos or anything HBO really. And amidst it all, a distant aspiration persists: a yearning for world peace.

Watch About Me

I like to say things like “peace in the streets” or “cheerio”, it’s like I’m living in a sitcom.

How I stay updated

I'm constantly seeking out tutorials because each one feels like adding another tool to my toolkit. Right now, my fixation lies in motion design and character animation. I've got my sights set on diving into some 3D work too.

We listen to the client and use our expertise to create something that’s right for them

Favourite part about working at GummyBear

GummyBear's got me tucked away in this cozy little bubble (literally the back offices) where emails don't dare to tread, and direct client interaction is rare, but when it's showtime, I step up, flaunt the work, and bask in all the glory.

A ‘normal’ day at work

Arriving on my e-bike, I dive into the day's tasks with a mix of sitting, standing, kneeling or stradling - toggling between crafting website designs and dynamic motion graphics. The rhythm of my day is punctuated by the constant click-clack of keys and the steady gaze at my unusually large screen.

An industry challenge you’d like to fix

It's not just about fitting client content into a template; it's about truly listening and delivering top-notch execution

Background info

After earning a Bachelor of Design (Communication) from Otago Polytechnic, I've spent 9 years in various design roles.

From creating custom rugby gear as a graphic designer to webflow development and motion design in agencies and freelance.

Currently, I'm a Senior Designer specialising in website design, Webflow development, and motion design.

When I'm not working

My days revolve around my young family, which pretty much consumes all my waking hours.

I love hanging out, playing games, and talking with them. When I do get a moment to myself, you'll often find me indulging in some red wine or whiskey, paired with some fancy cheese.
